Los Angeles duo B00TY captures Friday night dance floor magic, bottles it up, and serves it back out as an infectious disco pop smoothie ready for consumption. Comprised of singer/producers Edan Freiberger and Adam Epelbaum, their penchant for bright-eyed '70s soul coupled with Marvin Gaye-esque falsetto immediately caught the attention of Geffen Records' President, Neil Jacobson, who personally signed them to the label.
That studio inspiration is apparent on B00TY's latest record "Modern Romance," a song that cheekily ruminates on the tribulations that come with trying to find love in a technology obsessed society. Production assistance from Vancouver based artist and Anderson Paak. collaborator Pomo gives the track its disco shine. Funk-filled synths, hand claps, and alt percussion pair perfectly with Epelbaum and Freiberger's sultry and sometimes sly vocals that channel soul titans of the past while maintaining a certain pop sensibility that give the record a timeless sound.
