Sometimes the simplest reviews turn out to be the hardest and today was a day when the reviewer's 'curse struck twice in quick succession. What have we learned from this?
Well be very careful with aluminum nuts on aluminum shafts -- if there is any imperfection in the anodizing you might end up with the nut jammed tight. Also be very careful not to over-torque such a setup because this can also cause galling and the resultant problems removing the nut later. The problem is particularly tricky with nylock type nuts because it's harder to tell just how much torque you're applying due to the drag of the nylon portion.
We also learned that even brand new stuff can sometimes be faulty. Perhaps it's only a $100 radio but I was a little disappointed that the RadioLink AT9 has a faulty pot unit on the yaw control which has a very real effect on the way the Screamer flew in a quick test-hover. I have increased the dead-band to eliminate the effect but I fear this may adversely affect the handling of the craft so may end up fitting a FrSky receiver and using the Taranis.
