In addition to the DJI Naza flight controller I've been experimenting with APM 2.5. I'm excited about the prospects of semi-autonomous flight by setting waypoints through the Mission Planner software.
This video gives a brief overview of wiring your receiver and initial configuration to get your APM board in the air. I'm using a 3D Robotics Quad-C frame with APM 2.5. Always use the wiki when you're getting started:
I still refer to it daily!
One note is that if you're looking for a flight controller that flies with no tweaking then APM is not for you. This is a controller that is incredibly robust with a large user community behind it, and is constantly under development. If you want something that is pretty much plug and play then the DJI Naza is your choice.
