10 NEW Electric Car Concepts that Should Hit the Production

After reviewing a great deal of concept cars we have noticed that most of the time some spectacular ideas never become a reality and fade away as a one time show model. The situation is practically the same on the EV market.
Car manufacturers like Honda, Mercedes, Audi and BMW have whole electric strategies based on their concepts, but will they ever be produced? We do agree, that while some automakers only come up with prototypes with fancy names, Tesla is electrifying the world, but have some faith and enjoy this episode were we gathered the most exciting new electric car concepts that in our opinion must hit the production and will further develop the world of EVs.

This concept is powered by two electric motors each dedicated to one of the axels. Combined output is 299 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to accelerate this car to 60 in 4.5 seconds.

On paper this concept, also called BMW i5, should be able to cover 373 miles on a single charge, and on the road is fast enough to surpass 120 mph speed and sprint to 60 in 4 seconds.

The series model based on Urban EV Concept shall arrive to Europe in 2019. This car is a part of this manufacturer’s strategy that has a goal of electrifying and smartening Honda’s car fleet.

It is an SUV-crossover that will have two electric motors with the combined output of 300 hp, that will set acceleration to 62 miles per hour in 6 seconds. The overall driving range will be at 312 miles.

Since this autonomous car will be used for commutes and travel it focuses on long range that reaches 500 miles and fast 30 min 0-80% charging. It's combined motor output is 354 horses and 405 lb-ft of torque.

This Jaguar is a reconfigured E-type Series 1.5 sports roadster of the 1968 model year, that got equipped with a specifically engineered 300 horsepower (220 kW) motor to fit the space previously occupied by the engine and gearbox.

Driverless two seater Smart Vision EQ Fortwo will be equipped with a 30 kWh battery that will allow almost constant operation throughout the day, and when the charge is low it will automatically go to the station.

EQA is a three door EV with two motors on each axle with combined output of 272 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. The installed battery can store 60 kWh charge, ensuring 250 miles of range.

Future-Type embodies the future of completely autonomous lightweight cars for ultimate on demand mobility. With this 3-seater concept Jaguar is playing with an idea of shared car ownership with personalized experience for each co-owner.

Symbioz comes with 5th level of autonomy in this auto, so the driver can relax and talk with the passengers in the living room like environment. It is hard to imagine this electric vehicle being ever built, but Renault has mentioned the 2030.

The powertrain is still presented by 3 electric motors, with two of them on the rear axels and the combined output is 503 horses, resulting in 4.5 seconds 0-60. The range is 312 miles, due to the use of a high capacity 95 kWh battery.
