We lace up and test adidas Football's brand new ACE16+ TKRZ boot designed for use on astro-turf surfaces.
The adidas TKRZ ACE 16+ poses as the German brand's specifically engineered silo for use on artificial surfaces through an innovative sole plate and upper material. A part of the control-themed ACE range, the TKRZ boot has been constructed to offer increased touch and feel when dribbling and striking the ball through the combination of a synthetic upper and several rubberised panels placed across the toe-box and forefoot.
Whilst the upper of the TKRZ has been master-crafted for enhancing friction and grip on the ball, the outsole also provides unrivalled traction on artificial surfaces through a revolutionary stud configuration of seven shallow conical studs specifically positioned upon the sole plate. Between the minimalistic studs sees a platform constructed of small triangular grooves to again increase the imperative changes of direction and acceleration for small-sided editions of the game.
Further intricacies sees a unique heel-tab which has a narrow and raised tip to hug around the Achilles, whilst the lacing system boasts a zig-zag design at an off-centre position which again features a rubberised border. For the commonly seen trapping of the ball in small-sided football, adidas have continued a rubberised panel on the toe-box to underneath the boot for added friction when controlling the ball underfoot.
