Lost and found ZMR 250 Quad Epic Adventure
Lost my ZMR 250 quad in a huge field and had no idea where to find it so I employed a methodical search method using a GPS app to show my tracks. This insured I wouldn't miss any areas.
What happened was I was at the end of my battery and just got carried away and kept flying (we've all been there), I was doing low passes so I had no frame of reference because everything was green. I lost battery power and instantly knew I had no idea where I was! I have the lost model buzzer on the naze32 board hooked up but when activated nothing happened (battery was still plugged in). In hindsight I should have had my Loc8tor Lite onboard as I could have found it it one minute! I guess multiple recovery systems are really necessary if you truly don't want to lose your quad. I'm glad I didn't give up as a few times I was going to.
Things I did wrong:
I didn't use a spotter
I wasn't recording the flight with the DVR
I ran my battery down so far it took the quad down
This was like looking for a needle in 100 haystacks!
