From Lop Buri to Bangkok - Thailand 4K Travel Channel

The distance from Lop Buri to Bangkok is about 150 km. One last look at the steep karst rocks in the surroundings of the city, then the journey continues through a large plain. We cross small rivers and canals and drive along big paddy-fields. Passing Ayutthaya, we can recognize a Prang from the distance.
Only when we approach Bangkok, the urbanization grows rapidly. It is always amazing at what speed Bangkok has expanded. One literally disappears in a sea of skyscrapers. The broad elevated freeways enable a fast access to the center. The numerous new buildings in between remind us that the growth of the city is far from reaching its end.
Phra Sumen Fort appears in front of us and we know that our hotel, the Navalai River Resort, is already very close. The next day will be a relaxing day in Bangkok before we continue to Vietnam.

Die Entfernung von Lop Buri nach Bangkok beträgt ca. 150 km. Ein letzter Blick ist uns auf die steilen Karstfelsen in der Umgebung der Stadt gegönnt, dann verläuft die Fahrt erst einmal durch eine große Ebene. Wir überqueren kleiner Flüsse und Kanäle und bewegen uns am Rande großer Reisfelder. Als wir Ayutthaya passieren können wir aus der Ferne noch einen Prang erkennen.
Erst als wir uns Bangkok nähern, nimmt die Urbanisation rapide zu. Es ist immer wieder erstaunlich in welchem Tempo sich Bangkok ausgedehnt hat. Man verschwindet zunehmend in einem Meer aus Hochhäusern. Die breiten Hochautobahnen erlauben ein rasches Erreichen des Zentrums. Die zahlreichen Neubauten dazwischen erinnern daran, dass das Wachstum der Stadt noch lange nicht sein Ende erreicht hat.
Als das Phra Sumen Fort vor uns auftaucht, wissen wir, dass unser Hotel, das Navalai River Resort bereits ganz nahe ist. Uns erwartet nun ein Ruhetag in Bangkok, bevor es weiter geht nach Vietnam.
