In the days before golf carts, The Bearded Man played a spirited round at the world famous St. Andrews course in Scotland. The year was 1921, and The Bearded Man was on the 11th hole of the Open Championship — one of two amateurs to make the cut. He launched the ball into a bunker, and things were certainly looking grim for the young lad. He was just about to hit the ball, when the haggis from the night before started rumbling in his stomach. Unable to concentrate, he took four attempts and still couldn’t get out of the damn bunker. He ended up picking up his ball, walking back to the clubhouse, and bailing on the round entirely. The crowd was laughing, jeering, yelling — it was humiliating. It was one of the first publicly-documented rage quits in the sport. In the middle of this legendary temper tantrum, The Bearded Man suddenly woke up. He was in a hammock on the beach near Miami. This song was playing. Life was generally awesome. He thought to himself: “That’s odd… I’ve never even been to Scotland. Hmm… And I hate golf.” He didn’t think about it too much more though, as his drink was warming up and required his urgent attention.
