The King’s wish that the wooden colt features in the town’s popular festivities was granted, and the tradition has carried on ever Carnival in Pézenas is a time of wild celebration. As the Colt runs through the town, it creates a frenetic rhythm and uproar that delights the crowds of followers with multicoloured painted faces.
