The reservation’s wildlife is an active part of the scenery as it is a safe sanctuary for mountain zebra, antelope, goat and deer. Shoals of tuna, dolphin, seal and even whale live in the raging sea and more than a hundred and sixty species of bird indicate the unique quality of this natural habitat. Smitswinkelbay is known for its Bear Baboons that consume roots, flowers, insects and also seafood. One of the Cape’s more amusing inhabitants is the Klippschliefer which is also to be found throughout most of Africa. The magnificent scenery of Cape Peninsula is totally captivating and leaves an indelible impression in the memory of all those who experience it.
