Thomas and I were invited to the Melbourne Polytechnic, formerly NMIT for a Drone Demonstration, however they located the display directly under a Cell Tower.
Almost all our quads are converted over to the TBS Crossfire System and there was some degree of concern in relation to having to fly underneath the tower mainly due to the fact that it was going to be a display with around 500 kids coming through to watch the Drone Flights.
First thing I did was get on the TBS Lounge on FB and ask the question and if there was any possibility of issues. Trappy assured me it was highly unlikely so we got their early enough to test and confirm if there was any possibility of lost data or lockouts.
Anyway to cut a long story short, this was a totally new experience for us and I’m happy to report back there was no issue at all with the TBS Crossfire.
NOTE: Please make sure you’re using the correct ISM band for your country. Also note that I'd highly recommend testing carefully like what we did in this video to make sure you don't experience any issues. I'm in no way recommending flying close to a tower like this that is effectively pumping out heaps of RF Noise.
Both Thomas & I had our Crossfire’s set to 25mw and experience the amazing low latency feel of Crossfire protocol.
