Newegg gets exclusive access to day 1 of Uplinq 2013, Qualcomm's mobile developers conference in San Diego, CA. The whole event runs from September 3rd -- 5th. We covered day one; the Mobile Codefest & Hackathon.
The Codefest is made up of workshops for developers to learn technical information on various Qualcomm technologies and SDKs. The Hackathon turns Codefest into a competition where mobile app developers have 2 weeks (including some developers that started that morning) to code an app for 1 of 4 categories. That evening each team gives a 3 minute presentation on their app in front of the audience and a pool of judges.
Unfortunately we weren't able to film the presentations themselves, but Lauren Thorpe was kind enough to talk with us about Codefest and Hackathon.
Here is a list and description of the recommended SDKs for Hackathon contestants:

The Hackathon results and a special note from Qualcomm:
It was another successful Uplinq 2013 Codefest. We had a great crowd today of approximately 200 people with full session rooms and a strong presence at the Hackathon. Below are the final results of the hackathon. Thank you to all who made this possible, we expect to see some great buzz come out of this event. A special thanks Lauren Thorpe for all of the support and to Arlen Reyes who planned and executed this event from soup to nuts!
