Kelly Slater hits his best pipe of the Volcom Pipe Pro

Slater ruled the heats in maxing Pipe while everyone else battled for the places after 1st. Kanye said it best: "You are now watching the throne, don't let me into my zone/ Don't let me into my zone, I'm definitely in my zone..."
Yesterday (and each heat in the comp before it) Slater was in his zone. But, like, when is he not?
In a contest at the most dangerous wave on earth, on one of its most dangerous days, with nearly every international and local standout on the roster -- Kelly Slater scooted his 42-year-old butt into the final, with really not many obstacles and speedbumps keeping him from doing it.
Not to say that it was a cake walk, or anything. The guy closed the event with five of the top 10 wave scores of the competition, including a perfect 10 (10, 9.83, 9.77, 9.73 and 9.53). He also locked the top heat score of the event -- 19.77 out of 20, posted in the Round of 32 this-morning.
Did I mention he was in the zone?
