Flight testing of the DYS 2205 Race Edition Hollow Shaft Racing Motors. These motors were provided directly by DYS for testing, review and feedback.
We decided to get them on my 5” Alien since it had been running with under powered motors for some time. Thomas managed to get an awesome tune out of these motors. Essentially all we did was replace the 2204 motors with these and put on the GoPro so we could get HD footage to share on Youtube. The plan is to remove the Gopro and re-tune this quad again for racing on a naked frame.
It took about 3 Packs to get the tune to this stage and what you see in the video is it’s first flight FPV. The Tune still needs some minor work and that will happen over the coming weeks.
Essentially these motors worked way better than expected and it’s just a matter of time now, flying with them week after week to see exactly how they go over time. According to DYS they are running race performance Bearing and as such should last.
We will provide further feedback on these motors in the coming weeks / months.
Hope you found this information useful.
