In today's episode I will be making a very useful mini freezer. It's very powerful and will reach 0°C in just 8 minutes! It's fairly efficient too, running at only 4 amps. It can be powered from an adapter, or a battery if you need it to be portable. You will need to gather the following components:
Peltier:
Adapter:
Controller:
Heatsink + fan:
I used 30mm thick foam as insulation, andby carefully cutting the parts and using silicone to seal it, I was able to minimize the amount of leakage. It's very important that the insulation is sufficient!
By using a large heat sink and a powerful fan to dissipate as much heat as possible, the cold side reached a temperature of -11°C!
