I am ready to begin a build project I have often thought about for several years. This video series is a tribute to Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, & James May - the 3 hosts of the Classic BBC show, "Top Gear". I remember the Toybota Episodes well, as these 3 crazy maniacs decided to build amphibious vehicles, and cross the english channel. Before the channel crossing - they tried in a lake, with rather dismal success - but definite hilarity! In round two, Jeremy had made many improvements to a NEWER, white Toyota Hilux - and I figure - that my Long Wheel Base Toyota LC70 is the perfect candidate for my attempt at re-creating the "Toybota".
I have sourced an outboard motor that would make Jeremy Proud :) This "hard to find" and discontinued outboard motor is intended for a larger SPEED BOAT - that was a hydroplane machine. Though I wont need that much power.. I think we should at least have the potential!
The Truck and Body (all built, it battery) weighs about 8lbs. With the additional gear - I assume 12lbs. Thankfully, I have already installed waterproof waterproof electronics into the truck kit - prior to filming this video.
Today, I want to introduce my project - as well as do a "Floatation" Test - be sure to watch until the end to gather the full scope of what I am doing!
Enjoy the film my friends - this should be an EPiC iNTRO to our 1 BiLLiON total views on YouTube.. which is only a few weeks away!
