In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew talks to Colby Johnson of Ehang, about the company's Ghost drone, version 2.0. There are two separate models of the Ghost 2.0 available: the Aerial is available now and comes complete with a three-axis gimbal carrying a proprietary sports camera developed by Ehang. However, it is also compatible with a standard GoPro Hero, version 3 or 4. The Aerial relies on the user's own Android or iOS device to provide control inputs to the drone, as well as to display the video being transmitted from the drone. The VR Ghost includes a set of video goggles, which receive video directly from the aircraft, as well as acting as a relay to transmit control inputs from the user's smart phone or tablet to the drone – providing enhanced range and performance. It carries a gimbal-mounted 4K video camera. Both models also include a one-year, no-fault warranty, which will replace the entire aircraft up to three times in the event of a crash. The episode also includes a brief look at Ehang's forthcoming Falcon drone: a heavy-lift X8 multirotor developed for aerial cinematography, precision agriculture and other commercial applications.
