Freefly Systems ALTA 8 Cinema Drone at NAB 2016

In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew hears from Mike Hagadorn at Freefly Systems about the company's new ALTA 8 aerial cinematography drone. An octocopter, it features all of the standout features of Freefly's original ALTA design, re-christened the ALTA 6, including: the Synapse flight control system and its ultra-compact folding design. The ALTA 8 adds increased flight performance, heavier payload capacity and added redundancy, with two additional motors. The most recent update to the Synapse flight control system also adds fault detection and warnings for excess vibration, motor and ESC overheating and other in-flight failures.
