Once upon a time, everybody said that 1 kHz gyro sampling was plenty fast, and many of us turned our looptime DOWN to make it match the PWM frequency of our motors. Kids these days don't know the struggle.
Somewhere in there, Kalyn started pushing Raceflight to 32 kHz and most people said, "What's the point?" He believed in it so much that Raceflight One doesn't even give you the option to use anything BUT 32 kHz.
Now, with version 3.2, Betaflight can do 32 kHz sampling as well, which leaves lots of people asking: should I? And I'm here to answer that question.
I'm going to tell you one reason why sampling faster than 2 kHz is totally pointless. And I'm going to tell you one reason why faster sampling is going to unlock the next big frontier in flight performance for our quads. (Or, if you fly Raceflight, it already did.)
