Dave was putting in some pattern practice with his Extreme Flight R/C F3A Vanquish 2 Meter Pattern Ship and was doing a 45 up line when the throttle stuck (at about ¾ throttle).
All Dave could do is wait for the batteries to run down and be in a good position to do a dead stick landing when the power cut off.
We didn't know if the esc was damaged and whether the Low Voltage Cut-off would kick in so that the batteries wouldn't get fully drained and be ruined.
Fortunately, the LVC kicked in and his new Thunder Power batteries were spared. As you'll see in the video, Dave did a perfect job of deadsticking his 2 meter ship to a perfect landing.
Footnote: Dave changed out the ESC and flew it again. The same thing happened. So what was the cause? Not sure yet but Dave is looking hard at his transmitter programming. I hate it when you don't know for sure!
