In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Michael Dotson, the senior director of sales for AEE Technology about the company's latest high-end, consumer-level camera drone, the A20. It incorporates a three-axis camera gimbal, an optical flow sensor for precision position hold at low altitude and retractable landing gear – a novel feature on such a small aircraft. The aircraft is flown with a controller that includes both conventional sticks and a module that can be removed and used to direct autonomous, waypoint-driven operations and the “follow-me” flight mode. Video is streamed from the aircraft to the user's smart phone.
