BlackSheep Raphael “Trappy” Pirker at National Drone Championships

In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew talks to Raphael “Trappy” Pirker of Team BlackSheep at the 2015 FatShark U.S. National Drone Racing Championships. Trappy describes the aircraft he is flying during the competition: a Team BlackSheep Gemini hexacopter. It is equipped with a prototype TBS RaceBand video transmitter and a “true circularity” circular polarized antenna designed by Alex Greve, also known as “IB Crazy.” The Gemini was designed by William “Shrediquette” Thielicke, who took his inspiration for the design from an ancient sea creature.
