Sharing the FPV Experience - Gentle Alien FPV
This would have to be one of Thomas' most impressive Acro Flight IMHO. So you're probably wonder what's so special about this flight? Before answering this question we need to start at the beginning and hopefully my opinion will make more sense.
Usually when we FPV it's someone younger who's interested and comes over to have a look etc, so hence Thomas will go hard and put on one hell of a display for them. In this instance it was a little different.
We had just finished the second last pack and a Local women came straight over to us and told us how she'd been hearing this noise every evening and her kids wanted to know what it was. She was walking her dog at the time.
I was putting on my last pack and when ever someone comes over we like to take them for an FPV Spin for them to experience what it's all about. I usually get Thomas to do most of the FPV Rides because I think it's good to have people interact with a young person who FPVs.
Any way now getting to the point of why I was so impressed with this flight. Flights before this, he was going totally nuts!! As he was about to take her up for a spin, my concern was, if he goes too hard she wasn't going to enjoy the experience. I wanted to tell him to take it easy but didn't want her to know, but there was no way I could tell him without her knowing.
Anyway he starts the flight and to my amazement, he was so gentle and smooth, focussing on gentle turns and cinematic tree spins etc. He really impressed me in that he knew what sort of flight would work for her and give her the best possible impression of the hobby.
He didn't show off and try to prove anything other than give her a fight that he thought she would enjoy. I was really impressed with his maturity in this flight.
In any case I thought you'd enjoy seeing a totally different side to the young man. Best of all she loved it and when so far as to describe the hobby as a magical experience!! So if you do take people for a spin, keep in mind who your passengers are.
Sorry about the Layerlens . . . it's been through hell and back.
