See The 7 Best MP3 Players on Ezvid Wiki ►►
Fact #1. It's generally believed that Steve Jobs invented the MP3 player. While he did change the game, this is simply not true. Before the first iPod in 2001, companies like AT&T offered digital audio players. These devices featured internal and external memory. They could download music from the internet, and sync it for playback.
Fact #2. The first MP3 player introduced to the American market was the Eiger Labs F10. It appeared in the summer of 1998. The unit was extremely basic, and wasn't user expandable. Owners could upgrade the memory, however. All they had to do was send a check for 69 dollars, plus shipping, to Eiger Labs.
Fact #3. There are several different types of MP3 players. The most basic is a device that can play both audio CDs, and data CDs containing MP3 files. Pocket versions are solid state devices. They hold digital audio files on internal or external media. They're generally low-storage, ranging from 128 megabytes to 1 gigabyte. Then you have devices that read audio files from a hard drive. They're capable of storing thousands of songs. Perhaps the most well known of these types is Apple's iPod.
Fact #4. Though the iPod was introduced in 2001, sales didn't really pick up until around 2004. Apple found existing MP3 players to either be big and clunky or small and useless. They thought the user interfaces were terrible across the board. They decided to try their hand at a design of their own. The general aesthetic of the iPod was inspired by the Braun T3 transistor radio. The famous wheel-based interface was modeled after the BeoCom 6000 telephone. It took less than a year to develop the device.
Fact #5. It's best to have a good understanding of the different capabilities of various players before purchasing one. If you're an audiophile and a fan of lossless content, you're going to need a lot of storage. If you're more interested in streaming, you can go with less memory. Finally, if you'd like to save on battery, look for a device with a simple interface.
