Put yourself in the cockpit of the most formidable of all WWII American fighters, the F4U Corsair! For every Corsair lost in battle in the Pacific theatre, this agile warbird shot down eleven enemy planes — and you'll enjoy equally winning performance with this Top Flite model that combines Gold Edition engineering with easy ARF assembly.
The main sections are built-up and covered in authentic-looking flat-finish MonoKote film. Balsa sheeting is formed wet, then curved and shaped on molds to achieve the distinctive gull wing. Re-creating the functional flaps would normally take many hours — but on this .60-sized model they're built-in and pre-hinged. The ailerons and flaps are also pre-hinged to significantly reduce building time.
Lots of scale touches enhance the Corsair's realism, starting with the dummy radial engine complete with pushrods inside the painted fiberglass cowl. The cockpit is detailed, right down to the recessed gauges on the instrument panel. The tail surface linkages are hidden to further add to the plane's scale appearance. And you also have the option of installing Robart® retracts for the ultimate in authenticity.
In the air you'll be amazed at how easy this warbird handles. Enjoy outstanding performance when you mount an O.S. 65AX two-stroke — or install a 4-stroke FS95V for added muscle and more scale-like sound. You'll turn heads at the flying field when you're piloting this scale replica of the famous gull-wing warrior!
