Im getting in some stick time with the controls on my 1:1 Radio Control Skid Steer. What a Monster it is!
Out came my full sized RC CAT 242D skid steer loader to help me modify my Backyard Race Track! Not to mention.. it was pretty convenient to pick up my Losi 5T "Project large 2.0" Race Truck at the far side of the track
The Skid Steer Radio Control setup was done by a company called Torc Robotics - and was an available option for me when I was purchasing the new machine. My old skid steer had blown a head gasket, and warped the head - and being 8 years old.. I traded it in to the dealership (Finning) for CAT.
I am still fairly new at operating this machine , as I just got it mid season last year. But, I have logged about 10-15 solid hours of RC time on it.. and Im starting to get the hang of it. It is much different than operating it from inside the machine. In fact, its another whole dimension! A lot of folks ask me if it is more fun to operate from inside, or outside.. and I can say each of them are amazing. But, being outside the cab, and watching the entire machine - I dont have to worry as much about bumping around.. and can move much quicker than if I was in the cab. Either way.. Its pretty fun.. and lets me work with aback injury. Its very helpful around the ranch.
