Speaking on the main stage at the 2014 Academy of Model Aeronautics Expo in Ontario, California, the Roswell Flight Test Crew describes their experience building and flying FPV multirotor drones to demonstrate the potential of this technology to firefighters and other first responders. Entitled 'Hobbyists to the Rescue,' the crew's presentation argues that amateur drone enthusiasts have a unique role to play in the development of socially beneficial uses of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS). The talk ends with an extensive question and answer session with the audience across a range of topics.
