I have a gopro 3 and wanted to try fpv video out or at least have the option to try this but did not want to cut up my waterproof housing so i decided to see what options I had.
My plan was to also cut off the bottom of the housing to make it lighter and more compact so I could mount it on more things.
Well after seeing the gopro version selling for $50 I decided there had to be something for less. After searching ebay i came across the Suptig Gopro 3 case with cut out on the side. This was perfect so after about two weeks i had it in hand.
The HERO3 Skeleton Housing has open sides to allow cables to be plugged into your camera for live-feed video, charging, cooling and enhanced audio at low speeds. Compatible with HERO3 cameras only.
Includes:
- 1 Skeleton Housing
- 1 Skeleton Backdoor
- 1 Quick-Release Buckle
- 1 Long Thumbscrew
Over all looks great and should work just fine. Latch on the top does not have a safety catch but it locks very tight. Should do the trick nicely.
For $20 less I don't think you can go wrong even if it could have a better latch. Unless you crash big time I think it will hold up just fine to normal use. But only time will tell.
Now off to give it a try on a plane.
