Red Bull Project Endurance V3.0 brought 6 athletes and 11 scientists together to further understand how the best athletes in the world perform at the top of their game. Triathletes Jesse Thomas and Angela Neath went from the low altitudes of Death Valley to the high altitude of Mammoth Mountain to investigate and understand how muscle fibers - both slow and fast twitch - and even the brain are impacted by altitude. Scientists poked and prodded measuring oxygen in the blood and muscles, the athlete's cadences and outputs, how the brain was impacting the athlete's performance, and numerous other markers with the goal of providing physiological insights and potentially new training methodologies.
