- 1:8th to 1:5th Conversion! For less than $300 I built a full functioning 1:5 Scale RC Truck that is AWESOME. Im super stoked about this easy build.. and I know that I will be getting lots of fun out of this rig - Not to mention the filming opportunities. Im going to upgrade the rig with Rear Steer, Updated Electronics and my own Radio.. but as it sits right now - "Stock" - It has everything it needs to crawl my front steps!
Here is a Link to the Truck I started with:
Here is a Link to the Original Video I did.. :
Some of its features are:
Full ball bearings throughout whole vehicle
Multi-link suspension allows for smooth crawling
Four wheel driving provides tremendous grip for wheels
Aluminum sold "X"-type side guard
"Truck/Hammer/Wecker" style body
Alloy lower suspension link bars with captured ends
3-Gear center-mounted transmission
Solid axle mount provides protection for front/rear shaft
High precision ESC w/ reverse function
High precision 2 channel receiver
To Upgrade the 1:8 to the 1:5 conversion - I used the following Parts:
1) Crawler Chassis- #98096
2) TurnBuckles - #98090
3) 1:5 Scale Body - #940575
4) 2 Side Guard Posts - #98007
It's that simple my friends! A few extra nuts and bolts.. and Voila! A CHEAP 1:5th Scale Rock Crawler!
HAVE FUN MY FRIENDS!! Hope you enjoyed the video!
