Philadelphia's PJ Geissinger aka Starkey is best known for his ass-kicking “street bass” fusions – but anyone who's followed his decade-long career will know he has a penchant for enormously deep and subtle soundscapes. Which is why we're excited about the launch of his new non-club music NOREMIXES label, and its first release by another established producer under a new alias. The seven-track Golden Ratio Syrup EP is, apparently, “a protracted piece of programmatic music inspired by dreams of the coast, with evocations of the tide, clifftop flora, ice cream and dead revolutionaries,” and 'A Screaming Comes Across the Sky' is its climactic moment. Listen and marvel.
