Mobius docking station FPV backpack from HobbyKing (flight test)

This product turns your Mobius action camera into a nice simple FPV airborne system that promises to simplify things immensely -- but let's see how well it works when velcroed to my AXN.
You will notice that there were some dropouts in the video signal (the small picture-in-picture) but this is mainly down to the stock antennas supplied which are not circularly polarized.
Part 1 of this review (the tear-down):
All in all, this product works as advertised but here are the pro's and cons:
Pros:
- nicely integrated makes FPV-enabling any model very simple
- can record as it streams the live video
- works with 2S through 6S lipo setups
Cons:
- picture quality (resolution) is not as good as a decent board camera
- image has quite significant black borders (wastes pixels)
- although audio is recorded on the SD card, it isn't transmitted
- standard antenna should be replaced with a good CP unit.
- quite high latency (not good for faster models)
Stay tuned when I put this unit up against the cheap $30 camera/VTX combo I've reviewed elsewhere.
