Please help us to find bad videos. Broken or unappropriated video content?
So I've had a few people ask me if I intentionally moved the Ronin footage to make it bad. No I did not. So basically I went to my local mountain bike trail, scouted an area that was safe to shoot, grabbed my setup and shot the video. ***A few other things to remember that the test shots was not scripted, planned out, and I did not take multiple test shots to make sure I was getting the best footage while viewing back on the computer.***Also keep in mind that the area I picked, offered uneven terrain and had trees and scrubs for a close background. If anyone has used a gimbal in this type of environment before we know it really shows the difference. Now If I had more time to practice and view back the footage I probably could have gotten the Ronin footage better if I had attempted to do the "ninja walk". Walking in this type of environment is different than walking on a smooth surface for example a sidewalk. ***Another thing to mention is you have to remember the crop factor with the GH4 compared to a full frame DSLR.
I simply grabbed the Ronin from my car, walked across the road and did one test my test footage. After that was done I walked back across the road took off the handle bar and mounted it on the Jockey and went back across the road for that test footage (After I took a quick 5 minute break to rest). I don't have time to spend all day getting the shots perfect nor was I paid to make the Ronin footage look bad and make the Jockey footage better. Heck If I was paid to make this video and had more free time I would have done a more detailed comparison video :) lol
All in all if your local to TurboAce they will be happy to let you try it out. I myself was really impressed with how the test footage came out. I didn't expect to see that much of a difference or being so stable. Once again I'm sure if I had more practice I could have got much better footage, but who really has time to do all of that if your a one person crew? lol time is money and the recent heat wave in California is no joke...
