Giant Squids have been known to roam the oceans for many years, but not until recently have we gotten photographic proof of that thanks to advances in technology.

In this video, however, everyday people like you and me get to see a giant squid up close and personal…
The video was submitted by Udara Shashipriya and Katona Zalán. It only shows one picture but claims the picture is of a giant squid that was washed up on a beach in New Zealand.
But is this picture for real? Or is this just another big fat fake - that’s what Udara and Katona want to know.
Looking closer at the video, I see it was posted by a youtube channel called Absolutely Incredible… The title mentions the beach where the squid supposedly washed up.
On a hunch, I looked up the closest police station to that beach and gave them a call to see if they had heard of this incident. It must have been huge news.
The information, I received from the police led to this… the official answer. Here we go. and I quote: The picture claiming to show a giant squid washed up on a beach in New Zealand has been thoroughly examined. From this examination, the picture has been determined to be… 100%... beyond any shadow of a doubt... a big fat fake…
According to my police informants in New Zealand, there was a squid that washed ashore, but it was on the opposite coast at a place called Kaikoura. it was also much smaller than the one pictured in the video.
