Hobby King PNF Wingnetic Maiden - CG, Rates and Setup
Maiden video, CG and Rates used on the Wingnetic from Hobby King. All in all I must say this is an impressive model. It really does deliver in almost every way when you get the CG and the control surface throws correct. The Manual seems to display the correct location of the CG however if you use the given measurement of 205mm you’ll fall well short resulting in a very nose heavy model.
The CG We used was around 240mm from the nose and this worked great. The other issue was the aircraft was very twitchy on the sticks. After we got the CG correct it soon became apparent the throws were way too high. On the field we ended up dropping the Rates down to 40% and the seemed really good. Aircraft felt locked in and on rails.
Ideally you would do this correction of throws via the linkages but this wasn’t possible at the field so we simply did it on the radio.
In any case the is a fantastic model that looks to be a lot of fun to fly! Highly recommended fun fly model.
