VTX Easy Race Lap Timer AirBirds - DesertAircraft - Quick Preview - iPhone Edit
With less than a week out before Thomas and I head to Hawaii for the worlds, DesertAircraft.com.au sent out their personal V1 Easy Lap Timing System from Airbirds.de
I got in touch with them to buy one but they were out of stock, however Mark from Desert Aircraft offered to loan me his personal unit for Thomas to try out before heading off to Hawaii. Keep in mind I've never purchased from them before!
Any way sorry about the quick video but only had a quick chance to capture some video using Thomas' iPhone with my iPhone doing the timing. This whole video was also edited on the iPhone . . . sorry about that.
Anyway once we get the current version of this unit, I'll do a proper video and go through it in detail. Initial tests went great. I had some issues but I never had a chance to read the manual. So that's good that it's so easy to get going but bad on my behalf for not reading it lol
Once we get back from Hawaii I'll do a proper followup video the latest version when I get my hands on it.

Unit Basics

One black box that contains all the hardware. It needs to be powered by some sort of USB. I used my power bank. It connects to either your iPad, iPhone, Android Device or computer.
It's looking at the RSSI reading from your Video Transmitter to perform the lap timing.
