Some mini quadcopter flying with MXP230, QAV250 and ZMR250 that isn't POV for a change and an example of what kind of injury you can suspect if you fly into yourself while trying to land *very* close at speed. Lots of harmless fun was had on a brilliant New Zealand autumn afternoon.
This just goes to show that these little craft are not only a hoot to fly but also much safer than larger, heavier craft. The small plastic props barely scratch and the low-mass of these things means they just bounce off, instead of causing significant injury.
Compared to the oil-soaked glow-powered 6lb trainers that *some* "veteran aeromodellers" prefer to fly, these things are super-safe.
Of course someone will bitch and moan that I've been reckless and demonstrated the dangers -- but have those people never cut themselves with a knife? Banged their thumb with a hammer? Or run with scissors? :-) Life is full of dangers and a couple of cuts on the back of the hand is one of the much lesser ones -- we'd all be far more likely to suffer a fatal injury in the drive to the field.
