In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Thomas Miller at xCraft at InterDrone 2016 about the company's X PlusOne drone, which combines the maneuverability and vertical take-off capabilities of a quadcopter with the speed and efficiency of a fixed-wing platform. Once airborne, the X PlusOne is capable of transitioning to forward flight and achieving speeds of up to 60 miles per hour and flying for 20-25 minutes. Capable of carrying a nose-mounted two-axis camera gimbal, the X PlusOne can be controlled by means of a conventional, two-stick hobby radio, in addition to autonomous flight capabilities using Mission Planner or QGroundControl. It also incorporates a Follow-Me functionality using an Android smart device.
