A side-by-side comparison of the RunCam Owl against the PZ0420m. Lighting conditions were ideal. Mid-day sun, no clouds. A good measure of how these cameras perform under ideal conditions and more importantly how the Owl handles bright sunlight. We already know it can see in the dark!
The Owl is powered by the quads PDB so some noise is introduced by the ESCs from time to time. The PZ0420m is powered off the lipo balance lead so does not exhibit this issue.
Color reproduction on the Owl is darker and a little off compared to the PZ0420m. The greens have too much blue in them. It seems some detail is lost in the shadows on the Owl but adjustment to lighting changes is very quick.
When flying into the sun the ground does not turn black like on many CMOS cameras.
Thanks to Jeff (7demo7) for the camera work and additional commentary
