New drone regulations come into effect in Canada as of 1 June this year and just one of the (perhaps) unintended consequences is that visitors to the land of moose and maple syrup face a fine of up to $3000 if they dare to fly a drone without the supervision of a licensed drone operator. Here's are the worst parts of the new Canadian drone and RC rules presented for your horrification:
- no FPV (operator must keep drone in line of sight *without* video)
- no clubs or racing (drones must not be flown near other drones)
- no electric, nitro or gas power (without a special authorisation)
- all under-14-year-olds must be supervised when flying
Them Canadians must be crazy eh?
