The LIGO gravitational observatory collaboration receives new funding to upgrade it’s amazing facilities. This should allow astronomers to get more information on more gravitational wave events using a new yardstick called Standard Sirens.
The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) has has really turned the astronomy community on its head over the past few years.
