In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Gregory Crutsinger, the Scientific Program Director at Parrot, to learn more about the company's latest products. These include a new Bebop 2 quadcopter drone and Disco fixed-wing platform. Each includes a new, more streamlined SkyController as well as a pair of goggles designed to accommodate an Android or iOS smart phone, to provide an immersive First-Person View (FPV) flying experience. The company's other innovations include the S.L.A.M. Dunk, which creates a real-time, three-dimensional point cloud, allowing a drone or other robot to “see” the environment and determine if there are any obstacles in its path, as well as Sequoia, a 100-gram multi-spectral sensor package in a GoPro Hero form factor, which will allow for the aerial survey of crops to determine plant health in precision agriculture applications.
