In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew unboxes, sets up and tests the Typhoon H hexacopter from Yuneec. The aircraft arrives Ready-To-Fly (RTF) with the ST-16 radio controller, a lithium-polymer battery, battery charger, 10 propellers, a 4K digital video camera mounted on a vibration-isolated, three-axis gimbal, a 16 gigabyte Micro-SD card, as well as spare parts, accessories and a quick start guide. The ST-16 incorporates an Android touch-screen tablet to provide a First-Person View (FPV) video feed from the aircraft, telemetry, and to make adjustments to the camera and other aspects of the aircraft's flight performance. During flight testing, the crew demonstrates the compass calibration procedure, the performance changes between “tortoise” and “hare” flight modes, basic maneuvers, the ultrasonic collision avoidance system, flight time and gimbal stability.
