E-Flite Carbon Z Yak 54 - Can You See Me Now?
We got our first taste of snow this weekend but Sunday was a beautiful day to fly. This video is intended to show my attempt at improving orientation issues with my CZ. It wasn't too bad on sunny days but on grey overcast days, I sometimes had trouble with orientation, especially if the plane was up pretty high or a bit far away.
I painted the underside of the wings with white Parma paint (foam safe). It's a water based paint used to paint the Lexan bodies on my RC cars. I used an airbrush so there was no propellant involved (unlike with spray cans). For the invasion stripes, I cheated and used colored packing tape.
Since painting it, I have flown on a cloudy day and the improvement in orientation is considerable. This video was taken on a sunny day but you can see how much easier it is to tell the top from the bottom.
