Evening in Madrid - Spain 4K Travel Channel

The place is framed by the hotel penthouse in the west and the Teatro Español in the east. We are greeted by a statue of Federico Garcia Lorca's, a leading Spanish poet and dramatist, who was shot in 1936 at the age of 38 by the Franco's coup. His body was never found.
Over a glass of wine respectively beer and tapas, Jose gives us insider tips about locations worth visiting in Madrid. Especially delicious was the Pulpo a la Gallega, a traditional dish from Galicia.
We learn quickly that the Madrilenians are extremely noise resistant. The surrounding noise level is so high that, sometime, a conversation is hardly possible.
Afterwards Jose shows us the Salamander in the Calle de Prado. The salamander, made of CDs, was created by IADE Escuela de Diseno (School of Design). We had already seen it already on one of Jose's photos in social media and wanted to see it it live.
At the Plaza de las Cortes we see the monument Miguel de Cervantes, Spain's national poet, who wrote the "Don Quixote". He is buried in the Convento de las Trinitarias Descalzas de San Ildefonso in Madrid's literary quarter.
On the opposite side of the street is the Congress of Deputies, the lower house of the Spanish legislative branch.
From here you have a beautiful view of the Plaza Cánovas with the Fuente de Neptuno (Fountain of Neptune) and Roman Catholic church San Jerónimo el Real in the background.
Via the Puerta del Sol, we reach the Calle Preciados, one of the busiest shopping streets in Madrid. An indescribable throng prevails here during the day and also around this time many people are still around. After Girona's medieval Old Town, the illuminations in Madrid appear to us like a fairytale wonderland.

Unser Freund Jose holt uns im Hotel ab und wir gehen zum Abendessen zur Plaza de Santa Ana. Der Platz ist umrahmt vom Hotel Penthouse im Westen und dem Teatro Español im Osten.
Wir werden von der Statue des Federico Garcia Lorca's begrüßt, einem führenden spanischen Lyriker und Dramatiker, der im Alter von 38 Jahren 1936 von den Putschisten Franco's erschossen worden war. Seine Leiche wurde nie gefunden.
Bei Tapas, Wein und Bier, gibt uns Jose Insidertipps über Besuchenswertes in Madrid. Besonders lecker war der Pulpo a la gallega, ein traditionelles Gericht aus Galizien.
Rasch lernen wir, dass die Madrider äußerst lärmresistent sind. Der umliegende Geräuschpegel ist so hoch, dass irgendwann eine Unterhaltung kaum noch möglich ist. Im Anschluss daran zeigt uns Jose den Salamander in der Calle de Prado. Der Salamander wurde von IADE Escuela de Diseño (Schule für Design) aus CDs erstellt. Wir hatten ihn bereits auf einem von Jose's Fotos in den Sozialen Medien gesehen und wollten es nun in Natura erleben.
Am Plaza de las Cortes steht das Denkmal Miguel de Cervantes, Spaniens Nationaldichter, der den „Don Quijote“ verfasste. Er ist im Convento de las Trinitarias Descalzas de San Ildefonso in Madrids Literatenviertel bestattet.
Auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite befindet sich der Congreso de los Diputados, das Haus der Abgeordneten, dem Unterhaus des spanischen Parlaments.
Von hier aus hat man eine schönen Blick auf den Plaza Cánovas mit dem Fuente de Neptuno und der Kirche San Jerónimo el Real im Hintergrund.
Über die Puerta del Sol erreichen wir die Calle Preciados, eine der belebtesten Einkaufsstraßen Madrids. Herrscht hier unter Tags ein unbeschreibliches Gedränge so sind nun um diese Uhrzeit noch immer viele Menschen unterwegs. Nach Gironas mittelalterlichen Altstadt erscheinen uns die Illuminationen in Madrid wie im Märchenwunderland.
