In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew unboxes and sets up the Parrot Disco fixed-wing drone. The Disco arrives in three parts: the fuselage and the wings. The fuselage contains a video camera with a digital image stabilization system, capable of capturing 1080p video as well as 14 megapixel stills – in addition to the battery and the flight control system. The kit also includes the SkyController 2 radio as well as a head-mounted display for a smart phone, allowing for an immersive First-Person View (FPV) flying experience. A flying wing, the Disco uses elevons to control both pitch and roll. To provide video and telemetry, the SkyController 2 must be connected to a smart device, such as a smartphone or tablet, running either the Android of iOS operating system.
