Since 1915, the US government has explored flight research, but it wasn’t until decades later that the notion of putting humans into orbit, let alone sending them to the moon, became possible. This is the story of NASA, the space race and the landmark Apollo 11 mission that finally put Neil Armstrong and others on the moon.
