Hozoin Inei is an optional dojo boss in Nioh. To unlock his dojo mission "Steel Across Steel you must reach 500,000 proficiency with spears and complete main mission "Immortal Flame". Weapon proficiency can very quickly be farmed after beating the story by playing New Game+ level 180 missions (enemies give more proficiency there). Completing the fight unlocks the mystic art for the sword (Spear Master trophy).
In this fight you both have a spear. Either poke him with mid stance strong attacks (Triangle Button) to deplete his KI and then do ground finishers. Or if you have the skill "Spearfall" spam that on him. A successful spearfall move will instantly put him on the ground an you can do a powerful finisher. After 3-4 ground finishers he will be dead. Try to keep him on the bridge so he doesn't have much room to dodge your attacks.
