I've been using a cheap, good looking sunshade for my FPV ground station for a few months now and wanted to share how I had made it. Below is an outline of what is covered in the video -
Measuring the top
• Easier to install into a lid with curved corners if we use two hinges per side
• Measure distance across the top out to where the corners start
• Measure across the corner
• Measure down the side
• Good idea to make the corner and side half of the top measurement if you can then it will fold flat
• Measure how far out you want the shade to project -- stand as you would flying and see where the shade would not interfere with your view of the screen
Cutting the board
• Use the machine cut edge on the outside
• Use a very sharp knife -- I used Stanley knife, hobby knife and even a scalpel. Use a Xacto knife
• Use a metal ruler -- plastic will be 'shaved'!
Making the hinges
• Cut almost all the way through
• Fold back and use thin bead of hot-glue to re-enforce hinge and stop paper slippage
Mounting the board into the lid
• Velcro
• Neodymium magnets
