In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Lucy Chen about the Walkera Voyager 5, a portable folding drone with a 30x zoom, 4K video camera mounted on a three-axis gimbal. Featuring a double-redundant battery system, the Voyager 5 carries three separate batteries and is able to safely land even if two of them fail, creating a very high degree of reliability. The Voyager 5 can be deployed in under one minute and can fly for 30 minutes with the camera payload attached. The drone is IP 43 certified, meaning that it can fly in rain and snow for all-weather deployment. It has a range of five kilometers and has been designed for use in applications that include power line and infrastructure inspection, search and rescue, emergency response, as well as law enforcement and military applications.
